What are the threads or sutra ? When someone prays, something like a long stick is given in front of him, what is the reason for giving it? What should be given in front of the praying person?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In Shariah terms it is called Sutra. It is permissible to pass in front of two rows of worshipers in a mosque whose width is more than 40 cubits. And in a mosque smaller than this, it cannot be passed in front of the musalli without a sutra. Sutra should be placed slightly forward from the place of prostration. In some books it is said to keep three hands away from the musalli.-Mabsut, Sarakhsi 1/192; Albahrur Rayek 2/17; Fathul Qadir 1/354; Raddul Muhtar 1/637
# Some more questions about the Sutras have come to us.
1. What is the importance of carpentry in front of us when we pray alone?
2. How much distance should the carpenter pay?
3. And if there are no carpenters, how much distance do the other Muslims give?
Can you travel?
4. And it is permissible for a person who is sitting right in front of the prayer to get up
Is there and if he should go up?
5. Will the person who is praying prevent the disobedience of the rules of the carpenter? How to give it?

Importance of giving sutras
If there is a possibility of passing in front of someone praying, the importance of giving Sutra in front of him is immense. The importance of sutra is clearly understood by a hadith of the Prophet SAW- The hadith is-
Translation –
Narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira RA. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If a person who crosses in front of a prayer had known [how dire the punishment is], it would be better for him to stand for a hundred years than to step in front of a prayer.
Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No-946, Kanjul Ummal Fi Sunanil Aqwal Wal Afal, Hadith No-19252
In another hadith,
Translation – The Prophet (PBUH) said – If the person passing in front of the prayer had known what kind of punishment he was in danger of suffering, he would have thought it better to stand for forty feet.
Hazrat Abu Nazar said – I don’t know, what is the meaning of 40 in the hadith, 40 days, 40 months, or 40 years?

How about the threads?
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If you place in front of you something like the back of a saddle, then whoever passes in front of you will not harm you.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book of Prayer, Chapter on What Covers the Praying Person, Hadith No. 685)
Translation – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said – If something equal to the back of the hauda is placed in front of the person praying, then there is no problem for those who pass in front of it.

In the explanation of this hadith, Allama Nawabi said that the thread should be at least equal to the stick behind the hawda. Which is from the elbow to the wrist or one third of a hand. If anything is placed at this height, it will act as a thread.
It is also understood from this hadith that it is better to pray with sutras if there is a possibility of someone passing in front of you.
How much distance should the thread be given?
It is sufficient to place the sutra slightly in front of the place of prostration of the praying person.
If there is no thread, how much distance can others cross?
If he prays in the mosque, and the mosque is small, then he cannot cross the front and perform bilkul. No matter how far you want to go. But if the mosque is large, or the prayer is offered in the Maidan, then the person praying standing in prayer and looking towards the place of Sajdah will pass as far as he can see outside the distance. And its amount is equal to three kata. That is about 4/5 yards. And if the prayer is offered at a station, then it is permissible to pass in front of it, leaving the place of prostration.
Fatwae Mahmudia-11/178
(And the passing of a passerby in the desert or in a large mosque by the place of his prostration) according to the most correct opinion (or) his passing (in front of him)__ (in) a house and (a small) mosque, etc. (even if the passerby sins) (Radd al-Muhtar – Book of Prayer, Chapter on What Invalidates Prayer – 2/398
There is no problem if you cross in front of the Translation-Maidan or the place of Sajdah in a big mosque. But if it is in a house or a small mosque, it will be a sin.

The person sitting right in front of the prayer can move from the place?
Yes, the person can move out of their place. As it does not allow the person to pass in front of the praying person. He will slowly get up from his place and leave.
The proof of this matter is clearly understood from the following hadith of Hazrat Aisha. The hadith is-
On the authority of Aisha. Al-A’mash said: Muslim told me on the authority of Masruq on the authority of Aisha: Mention was made to her of what breaks the prayer: dogs, donkeys, and women. She said: You have likened us to donkeys and dogs. By God, I saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, praying and I was lying down on the bed between him and the qiblah. Then I felt a need and I hated to sit down and disturb the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, so I slipped away from his feet.
[R 486] (Sahih Al-Bukhari – Book of Prayer, Chapters on the Praying Person’s Cover, Chapter on the One Who Said Nothing Can Break the Prayer, Hadith No. 493, 514)Translated by Masrook Aisha. narrates that when he was told this hadith that “Salat is broken because of donkeys and dogs and women” he said, “If you make women equal to donkeys and dogs? But I am the Prophet. I used to lie in front of it facing Qibla. And the Prophet used to pray (Tahajjud). Then when I needed to spread my legs, my legs would go to the place of prostration of the Prophet. (Because the house was dark) When he wanted to sit for sajdah, he would poke my feet. Then I would fold my legs.

How will the person who is praying block the passerby in front of the prayer?
If the men recite the takbeer or the kerat, the kerat will be read a little louder, and the women will block the passers-by in front of the prayer by clapping their right hand on the top of the left hand.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Glorification is for men and clapping is for women.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book of Prayer, Chapter on Clapping in Prayer, Hadith No. 940)
Translation – Narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira RA. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Tasbeeh is for men, and Tasfiq is for women.
Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith No-940, Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No-1034, Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No-1145, Sahih Muslim Hadith No-982
In Radd al-Muhtar – he heard the name of God Almighty and said, “May He be glorified and exalted,” or the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, so he prayed for him, or the recitation of the imam and he said, “God and His Messenger are truthful,” it is invalidated if he intended to answer him, etc. And it was restricted to intending an answer because if he did not intend to answer him but rather wanted to inform him that in the prayer it is not invalidated by consensus (Radd al-Muhtar, Book of Prayer, Chapter on What Invalidates the Prayer – 2/381).
